Why this exists.
Frustrated.io is a comedy website pretending to be a normal website. You click a button. The button takes you somewhere annoying. Then you can send the annoying place to a friend.
We built it because the modern internet is already a long, careful collection of small daily frustrations — loading bars that stall at 99%, cookie banners with forty-seven categories, buttons that move when you try to click them. We figured someone may as well take credit for the feeling.
What It Is
- A button on a homepage. Press it, get sent somewhere frustrating. Press it again, get sent somewhere else. There is no end state. There is only the button.
- A library of original frustrating mini-experiences. Each one is its own page, with its own URL. Built by hand. Designed to be shared with one specific person you mildly dislike.
- A catalogue with full descriptions. Every experience has a page explaining what it is and how it works. Mostly for Google. Slightly for you.
- A small comedic salve. The next time a real loading bar stalls at 99%, you'll think of us. We're sorry, and we're not sorry.
What It Isn't
- Harmful. Nothing here will damage your device, install software, charge your card, or read your data. Every experience has a working back button. Closing the tab always works.
- An AI thing. Every experience is built by hand by a small group of people who could be doing something more useful with their time but chose not to.
- Tracking you any harder than the bare minimum. Standard page-level Google Analytics + Google AdSense run (see /privacy/) — that's it. No per-action trackers, no fingerprinting, no email capture. The site is bored of your data before you arrive.
- Serious. If a page asks you to identify "the concept of regret" in a CAPTCHA, that is a joke. We cannot stress this enough. It is a joke.
Suggestions
Spotted a frustrating pattern on the modern web that we haven't catalogued yet? The suggestions form is open. We read everything that comes in. If your suggestion is original and not already on the list, we'll build it and credit you on the experience page. If it's already in the catalogue, we'll thank you and quietly move on.
